1. Dental Access Scheme for Vulnerable Patients

    The following patients fall within scope for treatment under the “Dental Access Scheme for Vulnerable patients”:

    • Looked after Children, who are very vulnerable and the responsibility of local authorities
    • Families of armed forces personnel
    • Asylum seekers, evacuees and refugees
    • People who need a dental check-up in support of hospital treatment
    • Pregnant and Nursing mothers
    • Residents of care homes: who are able to attend the dental practice
    • Patients with learning difficulties
    • Homeless patients
    • Other groups who may be locally identified as more vulnerable and would find it hard to access services ordinarily
